So now that I’m entering my 34th week of 100 Yilus.
I’ve noticed a few things I’d like to share with you.
TIME
I had this moment a couple of weeks ago when was starting my day with my cups of warm water and 10 Yilus before the family woke.
On every other occasion before this day, I have been in a rush.
“Quick, no time to waste, let’s finish my 10 Yilus before everybody gets up and then we’ve got breakfast, dressed and school drop off.”
To help myself, I place a apple clock (a red clock shaped as an apple…. not a new fabulous clock from Apple. That would be seriously cool) facing the lounge room, so I can be sure I don’t run out of time.
The same old, same old.
The on this particular Sunday, “no school run so I’m going to take my time.”
Same routine, 2 cups of warm water from our family’s Kagan water filter machine followed by 10 Yilus. No clock.
So what happened?
When I had finished my morning Yilus, it was the same time!
Difference is that I really enjoyed my Yilu experience. No time constraint but also I didn’t take any longer than usual.
So time is a concept that I make meaning of?
What if I applied this to other parts of my life too?
SPACE
So I’ve heard for the second time in a couple of days that science can prove that there is more space (nothingness) than matter (somethingness).
That in the grand scheme of things my gross and limited view of my reality is just all imagination?
So really nothing really exists like I imagine it to? Cause there’s more space than matter.
Ha, so what does it really matter then?
REALITY
Reality
Therefore I make meaning of everything, time, space and therefore my reality.
How does this relate to my practice?
Simple, the practise allows me the space to connect, reconnect with myself.
Mind, body and spirit.
I get present with myself and most of all, the practice honours and nurtures me. It’s like how my friend described to me today, “it’s like your container” she says. “the practice helps you contain yourself like the loving arms of your mother, holding you, keeping you safe.”
Now I get it.
This is why it’s so important to me.
This is why my practice is a way of life, not just my exercise.
Thank you for sharing.
On target still, 20 Yilus today. 330 days togo.
