Got interested in kung fu in the early to mid 70s, like every other school kid at the time. Even made a couple of kung fu movies with some high school mates, using all the moves learnt from watching Bruce Lee and David Carradine. Being half Chinese helped.
Nearly did a lesson of Tae Kwon Doe once. Many years later, when I was nearly 30, I got a job teaching and got totally owned by it, physically, mentally and spiritually. I quit after one term and vowed I would never teach again. The experience inspired me to finally learn some self defence – well, I knew it had to be Chinese kung fu! I walked into the Malcolm Sue Kung Fu School and met Si Hing Kon and I've been here ever since. After 13 years here I vowed I would teach again, and here I am teaching kung fu – and to school kids!
